Most of them stem from just enjoying watching life develop and grow, and that spark has either turned into a profession or hobby. Many are getting started incubating for the very first time, and aren't sure if they need an incubator.
Here are the most popular reasons why people decide to get their own incubator:. Egg incubation is the process of maintaining an ideal environment for the hatching of eggs.
There are many species of animals that require incubation for hatching, and different specifications for each of these types. Bird egg incubation, such as chicken, quail, duck, turkey, pheasant, etc. These typically require higher temperatures and moderate humidity. Reptile eggs, on the other hand, do not require turning during incubation, and typically require a more moderate temperature and higher humidity.
Selecting the right incubator will depend on what your intended use for the incubator is. Many incubators are general use and can be used for most types of eggs. The ReptiPro is great for all eggs because it allows you to hold 9mm 8 inch barrel at any temperature, as it both heats and cools.

My rcom mini that I have been using for 10 years is dying, but hopefully it will hatch the eggs in it right now before it goes!
Currently, I am torn between the nurture right and coughing up the money for a Brinsea. One thing I am considering is the dimensions of the internal chamber. I would like to try to incubate eggs outside the shell for research so I would like to get an incubator that I can fit a 2" high cup in.
In a previous threadsomeone told me the nurture right is about 4" high inside so that's a point to that. To those of you who have Brinseas, what are the internal dimensions? I was looking at the mini, maxi and ovation incubators. I doubt I would hatching more than a dozen eggs at a time right now, but if I am going to spend the money on something that will last a long time, it might make sense to get something with a larger capacity.
Especially if the internal chamber is high enough to fit a cup in. I would also be glad to hear anything else that might be useful to know or other recommendations you all have for incubators! I have looked at the hovabators and the incuview, but can't find the height of the internal chamber so if you have one, let me know!
I did also look at the cabinet incubators, but I could not afford one of those right now unless I could get a used one. But I would be grateful to hear about those too! I don't know what model it is, I can only say that it doesn't have a hatching tray and appeared to be set up for emu eggs when I got it. I haven't done much hatching for some years but plan to start now that I got some nice chicks that I hope are good quality.
Now for my question I have been drooling over the Octagon 20 thinking that I could use it for smaller batches. What I like about it: Great reputation Folks have great hatches using one Smaller size if I don't need the space in the big one Less power to operate So I think GQF also has a great reputation, right? Will the hatch be as good in the cabinet when it isn't fully loaded as when it's full? Would the energy savings be enough to justify the price of the Octagon?
Does anybody have experience with both and want to share your opinion?
