The DRO makes this mill so much easier to use than my old mini mill. The mill came in perfect condition in a substantial wooden crate on a pallet. I had to use the lift gate service and the trucker put the pallet right at the door to my shop.

I have lots of Grizzly tools in my shop and have always been more than satisfied and the mill is another example of Grizzly's quality and usefulness.Login or Sign Up. Logging in Remember me. Log in. For occasional jeweling of bolts, extractors, and bolt releases 5. For occasional in letting of stocks to allow for larger trigger housings. Hand work for final fit 6. For creation of sight leafs when one is missing from rear sight groups.

That said, these tasks are on valuable antiques and the work is all steel, not aluminum. No interest in tactical modern sporting arms work whatsoever.

Is this machine suitable for my desired tasks? It would go in a basement so I cannot fit anything bigger down the stairs. Thank you for answering my questions.

Tags: None. I can't specifically tell you if it is good for those jobs. I would think so, as long as it is mild steel and nothing hardened. Comment Post Cancel. Originally posted by Rookhawk View Post.

They're now offering the G I have been considering the G already, adding built-in 3 axis DRO for I know there's different kinds of DRO systems, some better than others.

The specs don't say what's being used Glass scales? One says es and looks like it's probably an Eason DRO pro of some sort. Any other thoughts or suggestions? If I call Grizzly, what questions should I ask? Also in case I haven't said this before, I really want to thank you guys for all the help offered here. I probably don't contribute enough here, but then again there is a lot more experience and wisdom than I can offer.

So again thanks guys. I appreciate it more than you know. Like Post. EdK Whipping Boy. That's kind of limiting. What type of projects to you expect to do with this mill? I know you have all answered this probably before but I have a few questions about a milling machine choice. Out of the G, G, G or other models in that range give or take a couple hundred which would you choose?

I am looking at a model that's not crazy big due to space, but want it to do various projects from polymer milling, aluminum, mild steel, and some gun smithing on pistol slides for light milling. What would be the most accurate, best bang for the buck? I have looked at the G, and G I like the DRO on them but would it be wise to invest in a power drive, and driven model? I called Grizzly, and the tech said "sure the G would be great if I get the right tooling and speed down. Thoughts please Joined Feb 7, Messages 4, I have the G and been real happy with it.

Well worth it if you don't plan on going CNC anyway soon. The G is the little brouther to the outher two.
